Note: You cannot export usernames and passwords.. it doesnt export nicely, simply throws an error (just another thing microsoft does so well).
This also means that when you export the settings you will get the following error because each server is trying to use windows authentication by default.
Here are some steps to get around this...
- Right click the server and click properties.
- Change the authentication to sql server authentication.
- Add the servers login details and click remember password.
An export of our commonly used sql servers can be found under I:\Settings\RegisteredServers20140306.regsrvr
